‘Trusting in God; Growing in Wisdom’

Walkathon

What an amazing day we had on Friday 20th of September, when the whole school took part in a sponsored walk to raise money for our school and our link school in Nyakabungo.  The day started with a special guests - Bishop Hamlet and his wife Kellen - all the way from Nyakabungo, Uganda.  He told the children that Uganda was a young country; a green country and one of large animals.  The children learnt about the meaning of 'Harambee'.  We were all motivated to start our walk.

The younger children walked 6K and the older children walked (or ran) 10K.  It was great to be joined by  many parents and relatives, including Vicky Thornley, the olympic rower.  At the finish line, the children were greated by Norris, the crocodile.

The event finished with hotdogs in the school hall.

Many thanks to Mrs Ross and Mrs Challoner, who organised the event.  Thank you to all parents and helpers on the day.

We now await the total figure of the amount raised.
