SEND News - June 2020
Supporting children with SEND at home during school closure.
Well done to all the parents, children and staff over the last 16 weeks for all their hard work, perseverance and patience.
It has been a long time since most of the children have been in school and soon we will be welcoming back a few to Acorns, Maple and Oak. Planning is being adapted daily in order to meet the needs of all the children returning to school and those who will be remaining at home.
We will be continuing to follow the key principles outlined below to support all the children, in close partnerships with families at home.
Please have a look at the new file that has been uploaded. 'Returning to school Parent,' a support document from the Autism Team. Another useful link has also been added below, from the Cheshire West and Chester Safeguarding Children's Partnership.
Key worker parents and carers – if you are facing the pressure of having difficult conversations with your children and families on your role as a key worker, and how this may impact on the safety and dynamics of your family, Clinicians at the Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust, NHS England and NHS Improvement have published some written and audio guidance to help you approach the conversation https://people.nhs.uk/uncategorized/communicating-with-children-about-covid-19/
